Set-Out Tips for Garbage and Recycling Carts during Severe Weather Event
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX– The National Hurricane Center predicts Tropical Storm Nicholas will produce 5 to 10 inches of rain beginning as early as tomorrow, Monday, September 13, with landfall expected along the Texas Gulf Coast on Tuesday.
The City’s Solid Waste Department reminds residents heavy rain causes street flooding and can turn over trash and recycling carts. Customers are advised to wait until the morning of their collections this week to set out their carts. Do not place them in street gutters. If necessary, place them in the area behind the curb but not blocking sidewalks.
Garbage, Recycling, and Brush & Bulky Collections are not expected to be impacted by Tropical Storm Nicholas, but the City and Emergency Operations team will continue monitoring weather conditions.
